Three Tips On What To Avoid Regarding Free Business Logos

Three Tips On What To Avoid Regarding Free Business Logos

If you’re out looking for free business logos you might find that you have many options on what you can and can’t include. Anyone can tell you what you need logo-wise but here’s a list of three things you want to avoid, if possible. Many of these tips are actually items that few people think about but they are important nonetheless.

#1 - Avoid Elements You Really DonТt Need

Are you incorporated or have an LLC? If you do, that’s fine. It doesn’t mean you have to include that information in your logo. A wonderful example to point to is La-Z-Boy. They are incorporated, yes. But their logo doesn’t say La-Z-Boy Inc. It simply has the name that everyone recognizes – La-A-Boy. If you want the world to know you’re incorporated you can put those details in your company documentation instead.

#2 Ц Avoid Particular Colors or Fonts

There are many colors of the rainbow you can use, but try to pick bold and striking colors whenever possible. Pale colors or thin script fonts are difficult to read sometimes and can often appear lighter in black and white. You might love yellow and pink, for example, but without some kind of dark coloring it’s hard to see on free business logos.

#3 - Avoid Taglines In Your Free Business Logos

Taglines can help brand a company and if a tagline fits it should be used. But any company taglines you have should be separate from a logo. The biggest issue with adding taglines is size. What that means is…

  • the text size in a company tagline will either be rather small and hard to read
  • or it forces the logo to be bigger in order to accommodate the text.

In any case, it’s best to just avoid taglines whenever possible.

If you follow these instructions you’ll find you can create free business logos that works for your company and helps establish you as a leader in your field.
