What sets the one who is elected President from the rest of the candidates? Their logo.<\/p>\n<p>Well, maybe not completely. Here at FreeLogoServices, we love logos and love studying the effect of logos on consumers and&#8211;in this case&#8211;voters. Of course, we know that Presidential elections don\u2019t come down to who has the better logo, but we still thought we\u2019d see what makes a winner\u2019s logo.<\/p>\n<h2>The most powerful past presidential logos<\/h2>\n<h3>1992 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.4president.org\/speeches\/images\/1992\/clintongore1992.gif\">Bill Clinton<\/a> vs. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.4president.org\/image\/1992\/bushquayle1992.gif\">George H.W. Bush<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Clinton\u2019s logo is 1992 is expertly designed. All of the parts fit in nicely together, and it is very visually appealing to the eye, which is quite different from Bush\u2019s logo. \u201cBush\u201d and \u201cQuayle\u201d are different sizes, colors, and fonts. This causes a little disconnect between the running mates. \u201cClinton\u201d and \u201cGore\u201d are the same font, size, and angle. They are different colors, but that\u2019s because they complement each other. That makes a strong logo.<\/p>\n<h3>1996 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.4president.org\/image\/1996\/clintongore1996.gif\">Bill Clinton<\/a> vs. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.4president.org\/image\/1996\/dolekemp1996.gif\">Bob Dole<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>This is a tough one here. Neither of these logos is that great. Clinton should have stuck with the same design as he had back in \u201892. But, nevertheless, Clinton wins this logo faceoff because his design is more descriptive than Dole\u2019s. Clinton includes the year &#8212; maybe to simply differentiate from his previous running &#8212; and Dole just includes his and his running mate\u2019s names. Clinton\u2019s is also more vertically balanced and symmetrical, which is pleasing to the eye.<\/p>\n<h3>2000 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.underconsideration.com\/speakup\/archives\/kingsley_bushchenney2000.jpg\">George W. Bush<\/a> vs. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.4president.org\/image\/2000\/gorelieberman2000.gif\">Al Gore<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The difference between these two logos is all about the aesthetic. Gore\u2019s logo is more comfortable to look at with the lighter blue color and the curved line. Bush\u2019s is more harder and firmer, with square edges and rough corners&#8211;a little less comforting than Gore\u2019s. But what do the American people want from their President&#8211;Gore\u2019s soft edges or Bush\u2019s tough lines? Bush won out, so it looks like that worked.<\/p>\n<h3>2004 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/i138.photobucket.com\/albums\/q266\/phenry1970\/campaignlogos\/2004bushcheney.gif\">George W. Bush<\/a> vs. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.4president.org\/image\/2004\/kerryedwards2004.gif\">John Kerry<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>These two are almost too similar. The colors, the imagery, the message. It\u2019s tough to tell who\u2019s going to come out on top judging by the logos. But, the distinguishing factor here is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freelogoservices.com\/blog\/2015\/03\/12\/what-to-look-for-in-a-font\/\">typeface<\/a>. Kerry used a serif font, which may have been a little formal for his campaign. Bush used an all-capital, block sans serif font. Bush\u2019s font was much more authoritative than Kerry\u2019s, and that power he portrayed through his font may well have got him the win.<\/p>\n<h3>2008 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/obamamedia.files.wordpress.com\/2008\/09\/obama-hi-res-logo-caps.png\">Barack Obama<\/a> vs. <a href=\"http:\/\/images.huffingtonpost.com\/2008-07-09-mccainlogo.jpg\">John McCain<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The thing that sets Obama\u2019s logo apart from McCain\u2019s is simple: Obama\u2019s is red, white, and blue; and McCain\u2019s is yellow, white, and blue. Seems like a rookie mistake to me. Why would you leave out red and substitute it with yellow? It doesn\u2019t make much sense, but it seems this logo helped Obama win his first election simply because he utilized the national colors.<\/p>\n<h3>2012 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/designtimeline.cias.rit.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/obama-2012.jpg\">Barack Obama<\/a> vs. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gopmall.com\/images\/products\/4609.jpg\">Mitt Romney<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The key difference here? The tagline. Both in 2008 and 2012, Obama tried to target the youth by campaigning strongly on the Internet&#8211;a tactic he also later used to promote Obamacare. Obama used \u201cBarackObama.com\u201d as his tagline in 2012 to try and drive people to his website, which must have worked. Romney, on the other hand, used the phrase \u201cBelieve in America\u201d as his tagline.
