#1 - Pick Logos That Are Simple

Your logo can have some decorative features. For example, a picture of a house if you’re a home contractor is fine. But it should still be simple enough to make a quick statement about your business.

#2 - Consider the Size of Your Free Business Logos

For places that offer high-resolution free business logos consider the size of the logo. What that means is the best design is one that will look great on a large billboard as much as it does on a business card or promotional items, like pens.

#3 - Check Out What Your Competition Does

Knowing what your competitors are doing in your field is vital. The same is true about how they ‘look’. Before picking anything check out what others are doing in your line of work. What designs, graphics and colors do they use and do you see a pattern? You don’t want it to look exactly like another business’ logo (We’ll answer why in the next tip). However, it should look like it would fit properly into a list of your competitors.

#4 - Make Sure Your Logo Stands Out

As stated above, your logo should have something in common with your competition but it should make you stand out too. It should describe your business in some way or make a statement about your company. For example, a hair salon might use a pair of scissors or a comb. Even without knowing the name of your business the customer immediately can tell it has something to do with hairdressing.
It should be noted that none of these tips offered are set in stone. It’s just a helpful list to get you started on the right course to picking your free business logo.
